Southwest Detention Center (Sheriff’s Station): 30755-B Auld Road Murrieta, CA 92563 (951) 696-3050 Located in the French Valley, the Murrieta Sheriff Station jail facility is one of five main jails in Riverside County. The jail, known as the Southwest Detention Facility, was built in 1992 and became in 1993. This jail also services the communities of Sedco Hills, Wildomar, and Rancho California.

Visiting is by appointment only. Visitors must call a day in advance to request a visiting day and set up an appointment. There are specific times that inmates can have visitors depending on which housing unit they are in.
Visiting hours are between 9AM and 5PM by telephone at (951) 696-3470. Visitors must check in 30 minutes prior to the start time, if late, visitors may not be admitted. There is a maximum of two adults and two children allowed. Make sure to confirm which housing unit the inmate is located at the Southwest Detention Center before requesting a visit.

The City of Temecula contracts with the Riverside County’s Sheriff Department for their police services. Also, Temecula offers two storefront police locations: the first being in Old Town Temecula, located at 28410 Old Town Front Street and the second in the Promenade Mall, located at 40820 Winchester Road, Suite 2020.
